He is so Spoiled 13

 Chapter 13

Coming out of the office,

Zou Yan held his phone and hesitated as he scrolled through Su Nuo's number with his thumb.

As a talent agent for so many years, he had done a lot of pimping before.

The entertainment industry is tied to money and capital, and if you want to make a living here without identity or background, it is difficult to take a step forward. You have nothing, so you can only exchange yourself for resources and investment, otherwise, why would anyone give you resources or invest in you?

Among the talents he used to represent, some actively sought out sponsors and opportunities for fame, while others reluctantly compromised. After all the hardships, they still couldn't become popular, filming TV dramas one after another and appearing on shows, yet their fans didn't seem to increase. After struggling for so many years, they couldn't even get a few advertising endorsements.

But Su Nuo did it. In just a few minutes of screen time, he could generate hot search trends just by relying on his fans, without even relying on his company. Even the picky director Liu could specify him for endorsements on the spot, all thanks to Su Nuo's own efforts.

Such a talented and hardworking person must also have his own pride. Zou Yan instinctively felt that he might not agree to take that path.

Still, Zou Yan dialed the number, which was answered after three rings.

Clearing his throat, Zou Yan was the first to speak: "Hey Su Nuo, where are you now?"

"In my dorm room," came the calm and clear voice from the other end, as if nothing had happened.

Zou Yan couldn't figure out what the other side was planning. He asked in a low voice, "Uh... about that, you're fine, right? Don't worry too much about those online rumors. Everyone will forget about it after a while. How are you doing now? Do you have any thoughts?"

Without hesitation, the other side quickly responded. "Yeah, I'm fine. Just follow the company's arrangements."

The tone was calm and emotionless, and Zou Yan couldn't continue. He had never thought that such a big incident would happen online, yet Su Nuo's response was like this. From last night until now, Su Nuo hadn't even called him once.

He had thought about Su Nuo making a call and telling him that he was disheartened and wanted to give up on his path in the entertainment industry. He had also thought about the other person being anxious and panicky, asking him for help to come up with a solution. But he never expected the reaction to be like this.

He couldn't tell if the other person wanted to give up or if they were in a hurry, there was no indication of urgency in their voice.

He couldn't figure out what was going through their mind at the moment.

Zou Yan swallowed the words that were about to come out of his mouth. He took a turn and pretended to be casual, saying, "I don't have anything going on, I just wanted to let you know that there's a dinner tonight at 8. A businessman from Shanxi wants to invest in a singing program, and the boss has arranged for the four of you to meet with the investor and discuss the program. Get ready and come over, I'll send you the address. You have to go."

After hanging up the phone, Zou Yan let out a sigh of relief.

He didn't tell the truth instinctively just now, because he felt that if he did, the deal would definitely fall through.

If things didn't work out with Su Nuo on the other end, he would be the one in trouble. The person who had been specifically requested by the boss to be sent over would have to be sent over, even if he had to deceive them.

He was still a little uneasy in his heart. He touched his chest and took a deep breath, praying in his heart that everything would go smoothly tonight and hoping that Su Nuo would be sensible and not cause any trouble.
........

Su Nuo sat leaning against the head of the bed, looking at the phone that had just been hung up in his hand, and closed his eyes.

The call screen disappeared and the screen returned to the page that was being browsed before the call, which was Su Nuo's Weibo homepage. His most recent response was made 15 hours ago with just four simple words - "Those who are clear will be clear." There were nearly a million comments underneath, all criticizing him.

At the moment when his dreams were within reach, he had felt panicked and unwilling, but he had never regretted it.

What was there to fear? If necessary, he could start over.

Three years, five years, ten years, opportunities would always come, and there would always be a day when he would stand on the stage again.

Su Nuo put down his phone and breathed a sigh of relief. When he opened his eyes again, the last trace of panic had disappeared from his eyes.

He got up and walked to the closet, slid the door open, and took out the white shirt he wore last time. After thinking for a moment, he put it back and changed into a thicker black sweatshirt. Zou Yan's tone just now was a bit different from usual. Su Nuo had a hunch that today's dinner might be different from usual, but since everyone else was going, he couldn't think of anything wrong with it.

He silently poured himself a bowl of milk, went over to touch the dog's head, and planned to leave. Suddenly, the dog that had been with him quietly all day stood up, bit his shirt hem, and dragged him towards the bed, whimpering.

Su Nuo was afraid of hurting it, so he subconsciously sat back on the edge of the bed along its force, asking, "What's wrong, little one?" He was very surprised. The dog had never behaved like this before when he was leaving the house. What was different today?

Su Nuo patiently stroked its back to soothe it, thinking that maybe his depressive mood throughout the day had affected the dog. He had heard that small animals were very sensitive to the emotions around them. After coaxing it for a long time, it still didn't let go.

With time running out, Su Nuo had no choice but to insert his index finger gently into the back of the dog's mouth and try to remove the piece of cloth from its mouth. As soon as his hand went in, the dog suddenly released its tightly clenched teeth, slowly moved its head back, and spit out his finger as if it was afraid of hurting him with its sharp teeth.

Su Nuo couldn't help but laugh, afraid that it would bite his clothes again, he quickly stood up and stepped back. "I'm going out now. I'll be back to keep you company later. Bye." Su Nuo waved his hand with a smile, quickly stepped back to the door, and turned around to close it gently with a snap.

He didn't see it. In the instant he closed the door, the little black dog had already jumped off the bed. However, because of its petite size, by the time it rushed to the door, it had already been closed.

Su Nuo followed the address given by Zou Yan and arrived at Kaiyi exactly at 8 o'clock.

The prompt sounded and the elevator door opened on the 6th floor. Su Nuo looked around according to the doorplate and finally found the private room with the name "Chun Feng Ge".

He knocked on the door and heard a response from inside, but the voices were too indistinct for him to hear clearly.

Su Nuo pushed open the door and found a chess and card room in the outer area. A tall potted plant blocked most of the tables inside, and he could vaguely see several people already sitting at the table.

It was very quiet inside, and there was no talking.

Su Nuo had a strange feeling in his gut. At this moment, a bald middle-aged man standing on the outer side had already walked over. He had met him in the company before; he was the boss of their "Star" department.

"Su Nuo? Just come in," he said, giving Su Nuo a quick glance up and down before turning and walking towards the inner room.

Su Nuo nodded and followed him into the private room.

There was only one large table in the private room, and four people were sparsely sitting around it.

As soon as they entered, the four people had already looked over, and one of them Su Nuo recognized. His name was Yang Qi, an artist who had entered the company earlier than him, and he had seen him a few times in the company's apartment.

"Mr. Wang, let me introduce you. This is Su Nuo... Come on, Su Nuo, sit here, next to Mr. Wang."

The boss led him to the empty seat on the right of Sun Qi, the middle-aged man next to Mr. Wang. Yang Qi was sitting on the left, and Su Nuo sat down after greeting them. He took a discreet glance at the table and found that the dishes were untouched.

Su Nuo's heart sank suddenly, and he suddenly realized that there was something unusual about this dinner party.

He was already late, but none of the other three people had arrived. They were supposed to be discussing the show, but there were no directors or producers at the table except for the investors. The other two people at the table didn't seem to be here for dinner, either. They looked more like hired bodyguards.

No matter how he looked at it, this did not seem like a formal work dinner.

Could it be that Zou Yan had lied to him?

Su Nuo's guard was suddenly raised.
